Currently nAppliance is shipping Platforms based on the Microsoft ISA 2006 (Internet Security and Acceleration Server, 2006), and IAG 2007 (Intelligent Access Gateway 2007).

• Net-Gateway mISA: (Based on ISA 2006)
  Application Layer firewall with IPSEC VPN, application publishing, web protection and caching
• Net-Gateway mISAE: (Based on ISA 2006 Enterprise)
  Application Layer firewall with IPSEC VPN, application publishing, web protection and caching, with NLB Capability an multi-node centralized control over LAN
• Net-Gateway mIAG: (Based on IAG 2007)
  Browser-based remote access for mobile employees and partners and strong end-point compliance

TMG and UAG Release*

The Current Microsoft Forefront Network Edge products, ISA 2006, and IAG 2007, are scheduled to be replaced in December 2009 by TMG (Threat Management Gateway) and UAG (Unified Access Gateway).

• TMG: Threat Management Gateway
  TMG will replace ISA 2006 and extend the traditional ISA functionality into the areas of URL Filtering, Web Anti-Virus/Malware protection, IPS, NIS and more.
• UAG: Unified Access Gateway
  UAG will replace IAG 2007 and extend the current features with smoother getting started wizards and application support, Native NLB support, act as a proxy for Direct Access, 64 Bit End Point Support, and more

Upgraded Platforms*

nAppliance has upgraded its platforms to fit the recommended hardware specifications for TMG and UAG.

• Memory: The minimum recommended memory specification for TMG and UAG is 4GB for the entry level platforms, with higher amounts recommended for the Mid to High end platforms. With RAM specs ranging from 4-12GB, nAppliance platforms will ensure high performance with TMG and UAG.
• Hard Drives: More hard disk space is required due to larger images and added features including extensive logging and reporting. nAppliance has upgraded the drives on its platforms to provide ample space for new TMG and UAG feature Sets.
• Processors: Powerful Dual core Processors are recommended at the entry Level as TMG and UAG employ greater utilization of multi-core technology. nAppliance Powerful dual and Quad-Core Processors provide ample horsepower to handle the new Forefront Products.

Software Assurance*

nAppliance is offering Software Assurance SKU’s along with platforms purchased. The Software assurance will allow customers to receive an upgrade image for their mISA, mISAE, and mIAG appliances to the next version of the software when it comes out.

• Upgrades:
  ISA 2006 » TMG (applies to mISA and mISAE Platforms)
  IAG 2007 » UAG (applies to mIAG Platforms)
• Good for 3 Years: The Software Assurance is good for 3 years, meaning customers can upgrade to newer versions of the software at any time over the three year period after they purchase.
• Promotions Available: Customers who purchase Gold (8x5), and Platinum (24x7) support plans will be eligible to receive 50% off on their software assurance. Customers who purchase 3 Year Gold or Platinum plans will receive the Software Assurance for Free.
