Our Team

Kevin Gugneja (CEO)

Kevin Gugneja has over 12 years of experience in engineering operations, sales and marketing of information technology solutions. He has an extensive knowledge of the market, including global distribution channels.

Kevin previously worked for ABB, the leader in power and automation technologies where he gained invaluable experience in product development and distribution. He also worked for Iron Systems Inc., and he founded Telenet System Solutions in 1996, "a Leader in Custom Server Technology," which was later acquired by BSDi.

Kevin holds a Bachelor in Engineering degree from MS University.

Billy Bath (Director of Business Development)

Billy Bath has over 14 years of experience in the development, sales and marketing of information technology solutions. Billy is responsible for all sales, marketing, and business development at nAppliance.

Billy was the founder and VP of Sales and Business Development of Iron Systems. Previously he was the General Manager of the Internet Server Division for Berkeley Software Design Inc (BSDi), a Colorado based software developer of BSD/OS (now owned by Windriver Systems), FreeBSD and eBSD (Embedded BSD) UNIX operating systems. Billy was founder, CEO and VP of engineering and marketing for Telenet System Solutions. Telenet, founded in 1996 was the market leader and pioneer in the field of low profile Rackmount servers and merged with BSDi in 2000.

Billy is an engineering graduate from MS University and holds certificates in Business Management and Computer Networking.

Jim Hietala (Director of Marketing)

Jim Hietala is an IT security industry veteran with over 20 years of experience, having held senior marketing, product management, and business development roles for security and networking companies. He previously was Director of Marketing for Control Path, where he created the marketing program and launched Control Path and their compliance management software to market. Previous positions include Vice President, Business Development at Avail Networks, and management roles at Alternative Technologies, eSoft, Qwest, Concentric Network, and Digital Pathways. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, and has also published articles on information security and compliance topics in the ISSA Journal, IIA Journal and other industry publications.

Mr. Hietala received his B. S. in Marketing from Southern Illinois University. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), the most widely recognized security certification available, and he additionally holds the GSEC and GCFW security certifications from SANS/GIAC.

George Davidson (Director of Channel Sales)

George is responsible for running the nAppliance Channel Partner Program and meeting the needs of nAppliance VARs and VADs globally. He is dedicated to channel integrity and building strong, long term channel partnerships. Prior to joining nAppliance, he was Sales Manager at Wintec for their Server Solutions Team, working with VARs and System Integrators throughout the US. Before joining Wintec, he was responsible for marketing and product development for the American Strategic Management Institute, a strategic management consulting and training firm in San Diego. He holds a BA in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego.

Cliff Skolnick (VP Engineering)

Cliff Skolnick has over 19 years of experience in the field of Internet servers, security and connectivity. Cliff was a co-founder and Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Organic Online, (NASDAQ: OGNC) where he designed the network and server architecture used by many high profile clients for their Internet presence such as Volvo, MCI, Netscape, Saturn and Microsoft. Before Organic, Cliff applied his networking and software skills at Sun Microsystems in the Internet engineering group as the project lead on one of the Internet Firewall Projects. Cliff also worked at Sun as a developer in the Clustered Systems group and as part of the Sun Professional Services organization.

Cliff is a founding member of Apache Group/Apache Software Foundation - an open source web server project.

Amandeep Singh (Director of Product Engineering)

Aman has worked in the IT industry for over 7 years. He has designed, developed, and implemented security and storage solutions for many large enterprises. He has extensive experience in systems engineering, systems analysis and system administration, and is proficient in many computing platforms, including Windows, Linux, and BSD. He obtained his Masters in Computer Engineering from San Jose State University with emphasis on security.

Harvey Bath (VP Financing & Operations)

As General Manager, Harvey Bath is responsible for directing all aspects of strategic planning and day to day business operations.

Prior to joining Iron Systems, he served in various technical managerial positions.

Harvey received his MS (Information Technology) from Griffith University, Australia and a MBA from Phoenix University, USA.
